Hi,

I have a query regarding the FMA events which are getting overwritten in the eventlog file.

EX:

I have these messages in the log file "nodename.eventlog".

18343 Tue Mar 17 09:57:51 2009 Chassis Log major Mar 17 09:57:51 ERROR: Failed to send a fma event(rc=11) report.cpu.ultraSPARC-T2plus.dsc
18342 Tue Mar 17 09:57:51 2009 Chassis Log major Mar 17 09:57:51 ERROR: Failed to send a fma event(rc=11) report.cpu.ultraSPARC-T2plus.dsc18341 Tue Mar 17 09:55:22 2009 Chassis Log major

Here I can see the log files generated on 17th of march. But previous day logs i.e. 16th of march logs are missing.

Could anyone comment what can be the reason?

Regards,
Chaya

Is this the same as 6750734 "Continuous output of "ERROR: Failed to send
a fma event(rc=11)" during POST" ?

Sorry - I'm not sure what a "nodename.eventlog" file is. Anyway these
look like Service
Processor log entries, not Solaris FMA data.

Steve
No.
The problem here is these events are getting deleted from the eventlog
file.
The event log entries in the "nodename.eventlog" file created today on
17-03 did not carry anymore the alarms from yesterday in the evening,
e.g. 16-03-2009 19:25:13 141-9995 minor "OEM:blnace323: Chassis |
major: Ma r 16 18:25:13 ERROR: Failed to send a fma event(rc=11)
ereport.cpu.ult raSPARC-T2plus.dce"
This message is no more in the file. I can see only 17th march messages.
The question is why the system deletes these entries? I have attached
the eventlog file for your reference.
Regards,
Chaya
